Cara Cara

Cara Cara

A stately bird the first impression

When you see him standing there

Until his job becomes apparent

With vultures everywhere

He helps dispose of the dead

And does not waste his time

From a place overhead

While the others below all dine

He feeds with the scavengers

With his little crest up high

His work with them he can’t forget

Though many time’s he’s tried

He returns to his peaceful place

When a carcass is all done

Where he perches in a little mesquite

And does some basking in the sun
