A Lifelong Journey

Accidental Poet

Like a raging river

Passion flows to the waiting sea

Fed by the bleeding hearts

Of poets like you and me

We write of life’s highways

Twists and turns of fate and chance

The flip of a lucky coin

Heads or Tails decides a happy dance

As the years pass

And the pages turn

Some dreams come true

And for some still to yearn

From deep inside the heart

Poetry begins with one word

Listen as never listened before

For passion waiting to be heard

Let the poet flirt

With that of an empty page

The search for inspiration

A lifelong journey to old age

I'm in love with the idea of a poet's flirtation with the page! Wonderful.

        • Accidental Poet

Thanks Heather for reading and your awesome comment. ; )

Great imagery for poetic use - love the word "flirt" with words - - thanks for sharing your thoughts on this journey AP.

          • Accidental Poet

Thanks Fay. I'm overwhelmed by all the responses for this write and all the reference to the word I used of "flirt". At the time I wrote it, I don't think I realized it was a great correlation between "flirt" and "page". I do see it now that everyone has pointed it out to me. What can I say? My muse knows what they're doing. ; )

Well orchi, if you're going to ring yourself out, don't get the page wet. ; )

That empty page is just awaiting words to flow onto it as your wonderful words have on this page.

                • Accidental Poet
