Snow Geese On Their Way
They flew over in formation
So high up in the sky
Ahead of a winter storm
Not far left behind
They landed in a coastal field
An impressive flock of them
There to rest their snow white wings
Having flown so far again
They visited with each other
And waddled here and there
Sometimes there were corn stalks
Sometimes the ground was bare
They had a little meeting
To determine who would lead
A favorite was elected
And the rest brought up to speed
The leader honked his horn
And each neighbor honked his back
A formation was reformed
And they were back on track
They flew many hours
Into the promise land
Where they would stay many days
With warmer times at hand
