Sarah is a small but lovely dame

She wants the world to know her name

Fiery red hair falls down her back

She smells of lavender & soft lilac

This is the night she fulfills her plan

To strike out against the very bad man

Sarah knows exactly where he sleeps

& knows of all the secrets he keeps

Fingertips tracing dull white walls

She sneaks through the quiet halls

Tiptoeing on the glossy floors

She breaks into the room next door

Sarah smells freedom in the air

It fuels her vengeful affair

Finding her victim sound asleep

She gets her knife & stabs him deep

His bright red blood spills to the floor

She marvels at the sight; she loves the gore

She grabs her knife & wipes it clean

Then slips away before she is seen

Groggily waking up in her bed

With a loud pounding in her head

A hot stale breath fills the air

The man she killed sits in a chair

“Sarah, are you feeling alright?

your face just looks so terrified”

"I guess I had another nightmare;

this time I stabbed your neck, Dr. Blair"

“That means you’ll remain here with me

I can't release you after that dream”

In Sarah’s hand he places her meds

& on his face a wicked smile spreads

The doctor turned so that he could leave

& what Sarah saw she could not believe

She felt stunned & completely tricked

The doctor's neck had been freshly stitched

Talk about a kinky relationship!! This one takes the cake. If he didn't cut himself shaving, they should both be locked up.
Another fine, dark, cliff-hanger of a poem, Santi!

This is brilliant Santita, I love the story. Easy to follow and I'm a sucker for poems that rhyme. Very well written, I also like how you leave the punch line until the end...Something I also usually do.

                            • Santita

Thanks, Syd! I, too, enjoy a good twist & punchline at the end of a piece.
