It

skyebellasario

When you open

Those piercing, blue eyes

And the hazy outline of us

Wanders over.

Does your brain fill with joy

Over the memories and love

We shared, before it came.

Please say

We aren't yet among the forgotten.

At times, I can hear the

Booming laugh,

And I can feel your comforting touch

You once were known for

Before it came.

I will never stop trying

To dig out the man you used to be.

Before it turned our worlds

Upside down.

I will never come to terms

With how it came

And took you away.

A mysterious and powerful one in its ambiguity. I love it, Skye!

it's a great poem with such a mystery behind "it" but so powerful. So sad, especially at the end. Great write, Skye!

Thank you Christina! Your response to my poem means so much 🙂

This reminded me of my step mom and her son. A relationship that started out so well, but his "IT" was drugs and gangs.

I interpreted this as losing a loved one. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Very well written.

I suppose I wrote it so ambiguously so that it could be interpreted in many different ways, thank you for commenting!

Awesome write sky. I too perceive this as losing a loved one, possibly to Cancer or Alzheimer's disease? So sorry if so. Lost my adoptive mom to Alzheimer's.

        • skyebellasario

Thank you AP, I wrote it based around my grand dad who is currently suffering from Alzheimer's but it can be interpreted any way 🙂 I am so sorry about your adoptive mum, it really is the worst disease

Yes, that and cancer. Thanks sky.
