So This is Love
As your beauty devoured me
Surrounded and absorbed me
I’ll follow you affectionately
Adore you gladly
You radiate like the sunrise
Pull on my heart like the moonrise
My voice paralyzed
My eyes in paradise
What new force is this
This ecstasy within my heart
I pray to God
This is only the start
Her eyes beyond compare
Her smile that pulls on my stare
The color and shape of her hair
Her name of Sharon my heart wears
To kiss her lips of wine
Would be a pleasure oh so fine
For her to hold the heart of mine
Long past the end of all time
I’ve never felt this way before
Never known I could feel like this
Like everything else out of focus
Just Sharon, me and certain bliss
I know I’m only ten years old
And too soon to be so bold
But she’s a treasure greater than gold
Hook, line and sinker I’m sold
It’s been only seconds
Since I first saw her face
First walked through those doors
To my heart’s euphoric place
A gift from stars above
She surrounds my heart like a glove
Now I know what they speak of
So this is love

Thank you Michael.
Sweet that feeling of love in childhood, I hope this was not your only true love in life , but just your first ....a very beautiful poem
Thanks WL, and yes, Sharon has been my only true love, and it was one sided. She moved across country to LA at the end of 8th grade. So Sharon was my first and my last.
