Why?

why do you protect me not reject me ?

Why do you hold me not scold me?

Why do you help me sleep not weep?

Why do you care when I dare to hurt you

For as the blade glistened you stopped and listened to the voices in side my head

As I fought you sought to calm me not harm me and put the voices to bed

And when at last you shed a  tear it was not through fear

But the thought you deceived me when the time came to leave me

But I felt you standing near

I felt your arms around me

Your breath upon my face

You did not leave me, you helped me to a better place
