Where Have All The Poems Gone.

kevin browne

Hard times big fines hit down by a little sympathetic orphanage
Walk the line do the crime find some money and give it all away
Find a love sell it tough and in the vein, a drug is on a warpath
Speak for real do the deal when everything around you is dead
Read the news old sung blues where have all the flowers gone
A rocking chair such a flair playing the guitar down in Alabama
Poverty poetry humbling tumbling floating on down the river bed
Give a nod up to God hold a hand together forever walk this land
Twin tower global power distributing disturbance on the ground
Mercury-Mars there's a star and where have all the planets gone
Wars on tours plutonium pours with precious babies all on fire
Times high gone by when invisible passes in the blink of an eye
Shed a tear all for fear oh dear can someone wash the pain away
Lives and knives atom bombs with uncle toms killing each other
Waterfalls crystal balls tarot cards where have all the spirits gone
Butterflies untie lies losing hope never gloat in the days of glory
Fancy dinner another winner wearing love-struck hurt on her sleeve
Tough love is enough another story told the glory of splitting up
Freedom fire burning desire cold and old living in a cardboard box
Sacred belief underneath and tell us where have all the prayers gone
Band-aid, where they played, sing a song when the dead were slain
Understandable is impossible un-nerve learn to swerve out the way
Catch a killer what a thriller when you end up in a coffin box
Toffee sweet really neat taste good in the hood underneath it all
Replay another day start to eat but where have all the dinners gone
Fact unknown upon a frown play with fire and kill another stranger
Don't refrain it's not a game hope for more close the door and wish
Mothers cry I'll tell you why fathers fight through the day and night
Something loving nothing coming tendencies emergencies always cope
Army boys royal brigades submarines where have all the ships gone
Crown of Buddha hallelujah praise the Lord with King Arthurs sword
Tortured love sings a dove cupids arrow sang the songs of sorrow
Jack and Jill had the will to fill a pale of water but lost the crown
Rivers flow where to go riverbanks no thanks drowning is a mystery
Distance calls Niagra Falls ice cold where has all the water gone
Silent night what a fright dream alone the ghosts have always known
Distinguished looks reading books telling tales from someone else
Invading degrading peace on Earth for what it's worth at the end
A creation the debating give a nudge taste the fudge on a tongue
Dead animals dying cannibals where have all the creatures gone
Prison gate stop and wait for lets all escape over the wall of doom
Chandelier over here have a drink never think until it's over
Another wife another knife another blood in the hands of God
Stabbing kids close the lids down the snakes and up the ladders
Christian faith has no waste where have all the churches gone
Jesus Christ gave us life on a cross another loss started crying
Days gone by then wonder why a moment caught which it thought
A broken heart fell apart restart when you turn to one another
Glowing and showing inspiration with dimensions fitting kings
Along the common autumn sodden where have all the leaves gone
Mona Lisa never tease her Eiffel Tower a lovers flower flew away
Roman roads footstep holds walking with the strength to carry on
Waiting and wanting to share and caring to show how the world is run
Earth wind and fire a humans desire catching you when you fall
Stepping stones broken bones where have all the paths gone
Tightrope always hope finding things buzzing stings the bell rings
Dig deep never sleep thinking and drinking about what was lost
Always do dreams come true filter the litter don't get bitter
Sleep tight every night think of things like angel wings on you
I stood tall I wrote it all so where have all the poems gone.
