Research is the backbone

Of everything that’s said

Previous theories are built upon

With an occasional leap ahead

 

The white coats really make them

With pocket protectors too

Reason and logic persuade them

To understand their findings new

 

Statistics are very important

To support a study or not

The scientists are all happy

When they get the numbers they sought

 

Serendipity has its place

In the scientific armory

With many breakthroughs made

Quite accidentally

 

Research is never finished

It just goes on and on

With scientific papers read everyday

From dusk until the dawn
