The Rain

This morning it rained like hell,
In the hard pouring rain, I almost slipped and fell,
It was dark and wet outside,
In my house, I really couldn’t tell,
I had no umbrella, so you know I was screwed,
The mud and the heavy rain I had to step foot through,
Me and little Maxine stood in the rain like two fools,
Until this lovely young lady offered for us to stand on her porch, under her roof unti the bus came,
Soon, the bus came and me and Maxine ran across the street to our own bus stop with our book bags over our heads,
Besides, Maxine didn’t have on a jacket...
