Began

Baylee

How could you

show your face

after all these months

As if haunting me day and night

wasn’t enough

Stirring feelings I despise

more than your audacity

I was over it

over you

I finally climbed that mountain

entirely on my own

But in a single, sweeping motion

you took me right back

to the onset of this battle

where everything began.
