Now Watch Him Roar

poetboy123

From within a hope is found

Room fades away, no sound

Determined to succeed

A hunger he must feed

Takes his place on the stage

Lion freed from his cage

Now watch him roar

A single misstep, doomed to fail

Watch his masterplan go off the rails

It crumbles and crashes

Burns away into ashes

Smoke rising to the sky

Too bad he can’t fly

Fallen again, lost it again

Retreats to his den, with only his pen

Wanting to fly, needing to fly

Is it too high, will it be too high?

Heading to the sky, past the sky

Now watch him roar

Knees scraped to the bone

Ready to seize the throne

Risen again, like a demon from hell

Burning with passion, seized by its spell

His past a shadow, clinging to his side

Against the threat of failure, never to hide

Eyes consumed by the flames

Bound with a desire that cannot be tamed

Takes his place on the stage

Lion freed from his cage

Now watch him roar

And 'roar' you do with this poem, poetboy! Very well written, well rhymed too. Ah, and yes, no matter how many times we fall, we do have to get up and get going again!
