Prince Charming

skyebellasario

People always leave

I muttered to myself

As he bolted out of the door.

I watch silhouettes

Ride off into the sunset

And begin their fairy tales.

They all want a damsel in distress,

That can be saved with

A single, loving kiss.

Somehow, none of them understood

A Queen doesn’t need

A Prince Charming

When she can very easily

Be saved by herself.

Great poem, with a strong and true message for all the girls and ladies out there! Skye, you write very well, I am sure this poem will be a great help for many who falsely think that they have to be rescued by a white knight (or prince charming).

Thank you Fred, I really hope it sends the message that we don't need a prince! 🙂
