Earth vs. Man
Over the course of time
Man has come a long way
From drawing on cave walls
To launching probes to the Milky Way
Of the many species on Earth
Only one, reckless and cruel
Forsaking innocent lives
To quench thirst of his own rules
He’s proved himself
A pretty smart guy
So it makes no sense at all
How he can cause us all to die
A mathematical genius
Philosopher of intelligence
Politically correct
Morality of relevance
A craftsman with all the tools
Master of construction
In bed with allies and enemies
A mastermind of destruction
A sad day it will be
When the sun shines no more
As our Earth burns to a cinder
And then man will know the score
For man had to play a game
Where no one really wins
And all life on Earth will die
Paying the cost for man’s sins

Wow!
That is an awesome write AP!
So true and said sad how man
can destroy in the name of
making things better!
Enjoyed the read!
Definitely a favorite !
Thanks Laura. What's sad though is that it needed to be written at all. I try to be a positive person from day to day, but world events have me scared for our future.
Agreed!
Good write AP. Me - an intelligent being?! heehee.
oops, sorry orchi. Didn't mean to include you with the genius leaders of the world. Hey orchi, how's your employment status? ; )
Thank you for this x
Thank you for reading.
I love this somber write because it's going to all happen eventually if we don't take care sooner or later. Excellent write. What cost are we gonna pay if we don't do something soon? Thanks for sharing!
Well Christina, that's just it. If we don't do something soon, there won't be any cost because it'll be too late to do anything about it. That's what the politicians don't understand. I've heard it said that they don't believe our fate is doomed, and if it is, they have more than enough money to survive it. But again, what they don't understand is, no amount of money will save them. If we die, they die too.
Right! They think that the rich can survive. Thanks for bringing up this under-reported topic.
Good write and so very true, the earth would be a wonderful place if it wasn't for homo sapiens.
Yes it would be. Think of all the trees that would still be here.
Beautiful song and a very apt description of man's history, future, and the sad state of affairs we live in.
Kudos!
Thanks for the compliment Fred. Glad you find it worthy of reading.
