There are many you know
Where there are names
On neon lights
With poets rights
All too many but few
Are genius
With leftovers lost
Pulling books aboard
Loitering around sacred places
Pretending to be Shakespeare
Needless to mention
I am one of those fakes
And this is my story.

I really appreciate the structure you have adopted with this poem, Kevin. So much more readable, and a fine write it is!
then I shall say a big thank you for recognising that. much appreciated.
I never claimed to be a poet either
I only write the truth or how i feel at that moment
anyway nice write
DeAnDr Ragnarok, I appreciate your honesty. I believe to be a great writer then being genuine is the key. write from your hearts life experience and true beauty will be revealed. just keep writing x
There is nothing 'fake' about you Kevin! None of us here is a Shakespeare, but still, we are writers, be it good or bad. As long as we write from the heart, are not pretentious, know our limits, all is good!
Btw, your poem is so well written, great structure!
From one 'fake' to another: Kudos!
too true Fred Peyer and thanks for the positive feedback.
