Savior

Lee Renard Caspian

With gnashing teeth from hell’s dark gate they hail,
Their silver tongues speak lies unto mine ears,
And sing thy praise to worshippers of Baal,
In haunting nightmares they kindle our fears;
In dissembling the will of man to live,
Their goal to suck the life from souls was laid,
And the devil they serve, their all to give,
A venomed lout, in sin’s mold was he made;
Yet in thy darkened Hades corner lies,
A tortured wraith with deathlike hand outstretched,
A King, with wish to save this soul, he dies,
And in The Book of Life the man was sketched.
           Our savior lived a life of constant strife,
           To give the undeserving a new life.
