Pennsylvania Dreams

George

(Verse 1)

I see those tall hemlocks swaying in the breeze, Pennsylvania's on my mind

I see the white tail deer, resting beneath the branches of a hemlock tree

I see the pine cones growing,

In clusters in my mind

Her tears were in her eyes, as her arms set me free

(Chorus)

Neither one of us wanted to go,

Now tonight we're both alone

And as we share Pennsylvania dreams, and I hang on to this jagged woody pine cone

For the days will go fast, as we hang on to our teens

I know she's out there missing me, as I set here waiting by the phone

(Verse 2)

Oh! Tonight we'll fall to sleep apart, dreaming those Pennsylvania dreams

As I dream about the old coal mines, long ago back up in the mountains

We left each other went off to school, Oh! The hardest part was leaving her and our dreams

But I still see the pinecones falling

Back home in the Pennsylvania mountains

(Verse 3)

West Virginia here would be beautiful, if my Pennsylvania dream was here with me

All alone here is just another place,  till I close my eyes and see my Pennsylvania dream

Pennsylvania dreams here in West Virginia

Oh! The time will come when she's here with me

In these West Virginia hills

(Chorus)

Neither one of us wanted to go,

Now tonight we're both alone

And as we share Pennsylvania dreams, and I hang on to this jagged woody pine cone

For the days will go fast, as we hang on to our teens

I know she's out there missing me, as I set here waiting by the phone

(Verse 4)

I lay here miles away from her,

Staring out this window through the pain

I look towards the sky and see her face, through the tall hemlocks in my mind

I'm dreaming Pennsylania dreams, through this West Viginia rain

Oh! The time will come when she's here with me

In these West Virginia hills in the pines

(Chorus)

Neither one of us wanted to go,

Now tonight we're both alone

And as we share Pennsylvania dreams, and I hang on to this jagged woody pine cone

For the days will go fast, as we hang on to our teens

I know she's out there missing me, as I set here waiting by the phone

I'm dreaming Pennsylvania dreams

Pennsylvnia dreams as I sit here  alone
