Truth

Baylee

If truth is a demon

then lies must be angels

And if angels are from heaven

then what is heaven, really?

We feel too much

We take too much

We don’t give enough back

So if truth is a demon,

do we really desire it?

The truth is,

existing

is no simple feat

This life is like a treasure hunt

only these treasures are a necessity

purpose, meaning, intent, goals

But more often than not,

truth is tormenting.

Another great poem to make one think by the famous Nicole!!!
The real question here is whether or not the premise of the first two lines is correct. You may think that truth is a demon, and then the rest of the poem follows. BUT if truth is NOT a demon, what then?
I just love the way you write. This poem for example kind of reminds me of a Rubik's Cube. You can turn it any which way with different results. Genius!
