Our Kitchen Table
Our Saturday morning breakfast
Was a very special time
We ate homemade biscuits
And talked about Friday night
We bragged on the high school band
And their military theme
And also had much to say
On our hometown football team
We celebrated a win
And how our team had played
With our offense very good
And the defense simply great
There was the tight-end player
Who was a member of the band
He played trombone at halftime
And we cheered loudly from the stands
Our family used its time
Wisely around our table
We spoke highly of ourselves
Whenever we were able

The kitchen table is the heart of the home. Too many families now are busy on their phones and neglect this very important time.
