My Brother's Eyes

Nicholas M. Langford

His eyes are dark green,

Encapsulated by a tired pair

Of scarred lids. They are often

Filled with energy, opened W i d e

To see as much of his world as possible.

I have seen them squint in Vivacious laughter,

Uncontrollable. I have seen them close harshly ,

Sheltering                 from               of

                     themselves         storms       sadness

And dis

           apoint

                    ment.

They have stared in Wondrous Awe,

Laid loosely in Love.  His brow has

shaded them in Angersplit my So/ul

In careful contemplation. Nothing has

T O   SE

     S       D ME,

Soothed Me,

Or Taught Me,

Like the Eyes of my Brother.
