THE POET AND THE PAINTER

David Ghio

The Poet And The Painter

They both start off with a sheet of white,

One using a pencil, the other a brush,

One using colour, the other words,

To obtain a picture in image and verse.

The greens, the blues, the reds the lights,

They are all present in black on white.

The sun shinig from behind a cloud,

A cat chasing its tail around,

A ship sailing into the night,

Everything possible, both mediums right.

With every brush stroke, with every line.

Creating an artwork, for one's delight.

A very well written piece on the similarities between expressing in art and in poetry ... both, right-brain activities. Well done, David!
