City Lights

skyebellasario

The city lights,

Scintillating, blinding, gleaming.

They lit a stage,

For me to dance the night away.

And created a road into another world

Of mysteries for me to wander into.

The solitary nights,

When I can't seem to drift off

Into my dreams.

They shine through my window,

And remind me of

The wonders beyond.

But most of the time

They are there to remind me,

In a huge world like this

I will never be alone.

At least, for as long as

The city lights are sparkling.

Most poets use the image of stars, but your city lights are so refreshingly original. I really do like your poem. Kudos!
