I Will Pray That I Still May
Be Able To Say That For Today
I Am Okay With Changing My Ways,
Weary Eyed, And In A Daze
Though Ahead I Set My Gaze...
I Try To Find My Way Through Life's Maze
May I Walk And Wander Unafraid
Until The End Of My Days

- Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem because I came to the conclusion that in my whole time of sobriety, I have never been able to let my past go completely. I always had to lean on those old using friends that would stop me from being my best and setting me backward.

Sometimes it is difficult to walk forward without turning around. In a sense the Lookback can offer you A new perspective on what used to be. It’s only when you allow it to stop you from continuing to put one foot in front of the other that it controls you. I wish you all the love in the world in your journey forward.
