The Lucky and Unlucky

poetboy123

A world where the lucky are born in just the right places

The unlucky left to their suffering, can't bring ourselves to see their faces

Why do we take each step forward, for our selves and for our lives?

While behind us the unlucky continue to struggle to simply survive

Gifted with the greatest fortunes of impeccable safety

Trapped within our glass domes, we've abandoned liberty

Should each step forward be for more than ourselves?

While behind us the unlucky continue to experience hell

Unlimited powers at our wake, a chance to change tomorrow

Yet hiding with a simple joy, not passion, to avoid any sorrow

Will each step ever incite a wave of fervor to be more then we are?

While behind us the unlucky continue in lands plagued by war

Obsessed with our stars, the unlucky have only seen the night

Such apathy that we don't even dare to rise and fight

We are more than we choose to be, each life a flame

Let us burn away indifference and refuse to let tomorrow be the same
