Life... again

Casey Raffield

I... SMILE... and with it the grip is loosened.
The holding on of the moment has passed.
I see beyond the scope of hours now.
A far jump from the minutes I once suffered.
The blackness had consumed me deeply.
Now the battle tested light has returned triumphant.
With a heart that may not skip in joy but still it's beating.
Marked with a pace familiar to a time forgotten.
With courage I push through to small victories.
For now my aim stays in the realm of reality.
Armed with these truths I stay stead fast.
Carrying wounds of knowledge that will never truly heal.
Who's sole purpose is to remind me that I remain.
And still I smile....
