Touch

Lee Renard Caspian

To touch…
A simple act to bring closeness and comfort;
But what if it doesn't?
What if what your soul craves
              Your body rejects?
What if your deepest desire is also
              Your darkest fear?
What then do you feel?

Loneliness…
A blanket of thick darkness that
                Smothers the soul
Fear…
A constant concern that no true
         Relationship will ever bud
Shame…
A sense of brokenness that separates
      From the presence of others
Longing…
A deep desire to experience the love
         Comfort witnessed

                    Without touch…what then?
