Confusion

Alex Howell

You know as much as I

And you follow all you want

Combine in much in mind

Talk as much you talk

But do you even see

The thing I am in need

Lost in a corner of black dew

High and mighty you think you are

Low and cut is your way

You think not as I do

 Expect only what you decree

 For only plan you unfold

Does not allow me to be so bold

Short sighted and plainly flat you are

 Loving yes but not understanding

Your plan is not fully for me

What have I given to show?

Long lasting tongue dotted with thorns

Forgotten enough and not so strong

Do you think I am worth it?

I am sure not in my day

Flavors can not quench my drought

 Try to understand this being

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is about my struggle with my religion. I am angry at God for multiple things and I question his love for me. I find my religion hard to maintain as I go through a lot of personal stuff.
