Blue Bird House

w c

Blue Bird House

A hammer is used to drive a nail

And build a blue bird box

With its opening the perfect size

That birds will use it lots

The little house is made of pine

With straw the blue birds place

It is a space for the birds inside

And where their eggs are laid

The roof is at the proper angle

And keeps the birds there dry

With the water running off

While all is wet outside

The house is placed on a post

And is secure and strong

It’s the perfect height for a nest

Where a family soon belongs

The nest box is checked and closely examined

Each season it is there

With no wood weak or rotted

Or damaged anywhere

Small nails and glue are sometimes used

To keep the box all snug

It is a wonderful thing one can do

And keeps thoughts on things above
