Geniuses

Baylee

Geniuses

excel in math and science

While people excelling

in English,

writing,

art,

reading,

are simply

just “good” at said subjects

It is clearly ridiculous to think

it is any sort of challenge

to understand the arts

Even more ridiculous to think

a genius could be an envisaged thinker;

contemplating every aspect of every situation

before blurting out an answer

No

If you take time to think

then a label is slapped onto your forehead

slow

unintelligent

dense

If you can give them an answer quickly

and it just so happens to be right

You’re gifted

a genius

the next Einstein

What a curse it is

to live in this society

This society

in which the poet

is dimwitted

and the artist

is moronic

Please tell me

I’m not the only one

who thinks this way.

Einstein himself once said: The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits!

Well, I don't think this site is made up of only dimwitted and moronic pseudo poets, but society outside of our circle and non-interested in poetry, might see us that way. Especially since there is no money in it.

I want to one day publish my collection, but everyone I've mentioned the idea to hasn't been exactly encouraging towards it
