I won’t apologize.

Beckii

I won’t apologize for Dreaming.

I won’t apologize for yelling.

I won’t apologize for rebelling.

and I won’t apologize for being me.

If I had to apologize, then I’d be stupid,

because I’ll never do what society expects of me.

Apologizing means, bowing to your rules,

bowing to a man. When I only bow to God.

I won’t apologize for wanting to be free;

i won’t apologize for not following your dreams.

I won’t apologize, I’ll just leave.

Apologizing isn’t me.

Why should I apologize to you,

and then blame me?

Sorry I am not, sorry,

keep waiting, and dreaming

me? apologize? Oh please, adios,

Don’t come looking for me.

    You tell em girl!
Rebecca, I like your poem not only because it is well written, but because I agree 100% with your premise. Following somebody else's dreams is a sure recipe for disaster! You have to follow your dreams, and maybe make some space in these dreams for somebody else.
