I Know It's Only Tuesday, but I'm Tired

poemsbyliz

Ugh.

My soul is weary from yesterday.

My head slumps on my hand,

which rests on the table.

My eyes rest briefly.

Their lashes flutter open and closed,

open and closed.

How much longer do I want to stay here?

I don’t see the point of anything

anymore.

I know it’s only Tuesday,

but I’m tired.

Hard to believe the sadness in your poem after looking at your photo. I see enthusiasm in your eyes; those eyes also speak of a bright future and countless dreams that await you. It may be only Tuesday, but by Wednesday, you will be awash with energy and optimism.

These weekends can do that to you anytime, Liz!
    Just kidding!
I do like the way you use the Tuesday blues as a metaphor for sadness, maybe disappointment, heartache? Your few lines leave the poem wide open for interpretation. Good writing, like it!
