Afflictions

My affection is not purely corporeal
It peaks in my mind and forms doubts
Darkness envelopes the spaces greedily
Hungrily, my self loathing heart shouts

My soul has not yet healed from last
Each time sanity is torn out from me
When the mind perishes, the body soon shadows
Urges pushed back to no longer be

Invidious thoughts greatly smother my mind
A buzzing quickly fills my gut
Can I appeal death for my clemency?
The light inside me goes shut

I have come to expect great writing from you Monah, and have not been disappointed with lines like 'my soul has not yet healed from last', or 'urges pushed back to no longer be' and 'can I appeal death for my clemency?'
    Very well written poem (again)!
