The Generation Z

BreakingBabyBoy

My father tells me stories about how fear and guidance were the same thing, how they ran side by side when he was young.

About how if he did something wrong it was getting hit till your butt was sore.

How if you decided you were gay, another gender, or just wanted to wear a bow you were criticised and beat up.

He tells me how easy my generation but I can't help but to disagree.

We are the new generation, eyes on us.

We are in charge of the future, the future is in our hands.

Who's changing the world and who's just watching.

The generation Z go from believing the lies you told us about the tooth fairy to making suicide jokes, so of course we are going to be problematic.

From naive and innocent to talking about the best way to cope as we make self deprecating jokes in the same breath.

We guzzle your gender roles and puke them back at you.

We realized that someone shouldn't be discriminated for wanting to wear a bow or a cape.

The kids that decide to play with dolls rather than trucks or reversed don't get teased.

We take your twisted views of love and knot them into a heart so maybe they can heal.

Love is love no matter the color of skin or the gender.

We take your racial judgment and throw them in the trash, we realized we need each other we live here together.

We realized that we need to befriend our neighbors not fight them.

Instead of fighting neighbors we need to fight sexism, bigots, hatred, and racism, so many things other than each other.

Despite all of that, in the midst of all this chaos we still celebrate ourselves and each other.

We have parades, we have music, we have so much just celebrating us as a people.

We just enjoy being together and having fun and celebrating.

So while doing all of this we are bound to mess up.

We maybe young and dumb but we are not idiots!

We will not stand for these ideations that make life so much more complicated.
