cough syrup

Clark

Have you ever tasted the sweetness of a lie and choked it down like cough syrup to feel a warmth in your belly only for it to last for so few moments

It was beautiful while it lasted

Then the truth came out with their word vomit

While you just stood there shook to your core

Blinked

And started pouring more medicine down my throat

You can not be blamed alone

Because I loved the sweet buzz of your denial
