Recogntiion

Ed

They coil and curl

The jet black clouds high above her slender neck

Fingers etched with burrows of folding skin

Flipped feet surprisingly pale

Wet, blanched teeth jump from the rich background

Their smoothness reflecting my admiration

Admiration for a colour so deep my mind is deceived

Her nose prominent on her human face

Unapologetically large lips moist

looking soft to touch

Each lip falling flexibly

coming to lie against the other

Her gaze is too dark to interpret

Too distant to comprehend

But she talks to me and tells me her pain

She describes her joys and lust

Lust for a life where she is truly as free as history claims she is
