Little Wings

Little Wings

There was once a little bird

That was pushed from a nest

He called very loudly

In a great protest

His mother heard him calling

And flew to his side

She tried to keep him going

And tried to make him fly

A bobcat saw him there

And tried to pounce on him

The little bird was scared

And flew up to a limb

There he patiently waited

Until it was clear again

He made friends with a robin

And a little wren

They encouraged him

The best that they could do

The two were best of friends

With little fledglings too

The bird perched alone that night

In a special tree

Better days were now in sight

And he slept there happily
