A Warning, Reasons, and the Fall

poemsbyliz

WARNING…

Don’t push me baby.

I’ve got to fall on my own.

I have to want to fall,

you can’t make me.

I don’t know if I’ve ever fallen before,

but I’ve been close.

Things went wrong though,

so I stepped down from the platform.

I haven’t returned since,

until now.

I’m more hopeful this time.

Times have changed.

But that doesn’t mean that I’m not

hesitating.

Reasons to fall…

The kind of laughter that shakes the ground.

The conversations that never end.

The disagreements.

The agreements.

A soft kiss every once in awhile.

The kind of shit that makes you go crazy,

in a good way.

The Fall…

Wind crashes all over my body

as I fly down an almost never ending tunnel.

I fly past time itself.

I’m not falling alone,

and I love it baby.

Time stops.

A symphony is playing.

We aren’t falling anymore,

we’re walking

with others who fell too.

A soft kiss

sends us falling again.

Time stops again.

A new stage where a new passenger joins us.

We shower our passenger with love.

Talk to our love.

Nurture our love.

Two soft kisses

set us back into motion.

Time stops one last time.

We are tired baby,

we’ve been falling for a long time now.

Our love has grown up,

its out and about on its own.

A soft kiss

one last time.

It’s just us baby.

I think this is it,

the end of our fall.

Hold me close,

I’ll see you on the other side.
