There once was a girl

A girl who always seemed to be smiling

A girl who would use her spare time to lose herself in a book

A girl who had straight A's

They saw the girl

who seemed to be

so complete and happy

Little did they now it was just a facade

She didn't let them see

The girl who was screaming and crying inside which was why she forced the smiles

The girl who lost herself in a book because it seemed to be the only place that wasn't against her

The girl who pushed herself to her limits to try and make her parents proud, but it never seemed to work

But most of all

She didn't let them see the girl

Who was breaking inside

She was fighting a battle

With herself

Every single day

She was fighting a battle

With her mind

And her thoughts

And her anxiety

And her depression

And the worst part was the no one noticed

How badly she needed saved

Because she couldn't continue fighting the battle alone

Yet she did

Every single day

Because

She was fighting a battle with her happiness and no one else could save her from that battle

The girl was really

A warrior

Because she got up and fought the same battle

Day after day

While still being able to seem so put together
