Heart Room

Alexa Malyn

There’s a small room in my heart

Just for you

Well it’s actually a big room

You come and stay there when he is gone

You know the room is always open

Only for you

You leave when he’s in town

But you’ll come back again soon

I flip the open sign back to closed

It’s actually quite spacious

It holds all my love, all my secrets

It holds my truth

You never respect my room

You leave it trashed

I don’t mind, I clean up after you leave

But I always forget to clean up something

And later on it fucks up my routine
But it’s never your fault

always mine

I continue to open my room to you

Whenever you need someone to make you feel pretty

And less lonely

You’re only ever okay when he’s in town , you say

So why are you saying you miss my pussy, if you're so happy with him

I have that effect on people

Everyone forgets about me until it’s about sex

How can someone who makes me feel so low

Get me so high

How can someone who tears me down

Build me up higher than before

I believe in signs from the universe

But now I'm getting mixed signals

How can I love someone so much

But also wish they would leave

How can I want someone in my life forever

But also want to move on

Your life is good without me

But I just can't say the same

I want to be over you

I want to move on

But how can I move on

When you only text me when I'm hurting

I love you.

Such a sad and heart felt poem. I thought you did a great job expressing yourself, and I suspect this is relevant to your life today, and hope things get better. Keep up the wonderful writing.

I like the way you write very down to earth and gritty , very real .
