Colour

skyebellasario

My brain explodes

With bursts of colour,

But when my mouth opens

Tiny wisps of smoke float out.

They say I never talk.

They are wrong.

In their world of black and white,

Right and wrong,

Nobody understands

How the quietest of us

Have the loudest minds.

If only they could see the world

Through my wide eyes

They could see how

Vibrant life can be.

And finally understand

You don't have to be loud

To appreciate the world's

Colour.

Wonderful poem, Skye! You are right that the world doesn't have to be black and white! Continue to be colorful and vibrant and show the world what you can be!

Thank you Christina! I always aim to be a burst of colour 🙂

Within many modern cameras, there is a feature where you can change how the camera takes the shot in black and white or in color.
It is my experience that some people only see in black and white even though they're physically able to see in full color. Also like the glass being half full or half empty. My own father sees a half empty glass always. Always expecting the worst. So I completely understand this write sky. Excellent writing.

I have met a few people like that in my time! I'm more a glass half full kind of person. Thank you for the compliment and fave AP, it's always appreciated

Half full glass people are so because they drank from a full glass to begin with. ; )

'How the quietest of us have the loudest minds'
That line grabbed me, Skye, it so well expresses the mind of a poet and reminded me of the other expression: Quiet waters run deep!
There is so much meaning in your writing, I just had to make it a favorite!
