The kids of many colors

Lopez

I stand tall everyday hoping the world will change everyday!

I read to the kids of many ethnicities, they laugh, they giggle, they dance and they mingle.

Everyday i am with them i think of every obstacles the will face because of;

their skin color as dark as the sky on a lovely night, as brown as the chocolate puddings that they eat at night,

or because of the way they talk expressing their thoughts,

or for who they are courageous and spunk,

or because of where they live in a neighborhood full of minorities with all of its stories.

I think of these kids everyday I think of these kids and the struggles they will face,

I think of these kids and the paths they'll take, I think of these kids and I give them hope

I think of these kids and I give them joy.

What else can I do? I am just me, all I can hope is to see them grow.

I stand tall everyday hoping the world will change everyday, hoping the kids change the world each day.
