Solace in the storm

whoweare

Solace in the storm;

he walks unchanged.

Around him are the shattered remains

of all that matters to him. None retained.

Solace in the storm.

he walks unchanged.

Wispy waves of washing wind whisk away

all that had remained, of his yesterday.

Solace in the storm.

He walks unchanged.

Today has been gutted, slashed forever.

Nothing lives, today must die, moreover.

Solace in the storm.

He walks unchanged.

They scream for help, cry for requiem.

His watchful eyes know he cannot save them.

Solace in the storm.

He walks unchanged.

He knows their pain, of yesterday of today,

of them. He has watched them fade.

Solace in the storm.

He walks unchanged.

He knows for he was. He was as he is living.

Unchaged. Forever walking, never moving.

Solace in the storm.

He walks unchanged.

Longing for tomorrow, never reaching.

Striving among dead, perpetuating.

Solace in the storm.

He walks unchanged.

The temptest moves round him, never reverse.

It passes until it is in the hearse.

Solace in the storm.

He is no more.
