Timely truths

Casey Raffield

TIMELY TRUTHS

Lost in a dream I uttered the words I thought my heart no longer knew.
Fearfully, I left them in the dream because I felt the world was not ready.
Yet when I woke the thought of them alone brought an honest smile.
I decided then that time will not determine which words I choose to use.
No matter the situation I face I will speak only what I feel deeply.
I will find strength in the knowledge that I will no longer be silent.
Pushing forward is now the only move I will allow myself to make.
Armed with a deadly arsenal of long wasted words constantly held back.
I find a peaceful comfort in knowing that the reactions will not matter.
This is the only life I have to live and I no longer fear losing anyone.
I will speak every emotion I feel with absolute strength and pride.
No longer worrying how the response will affect the unknown outcome.
You are either with me or lost to the void that is the past I'm forgetting.
I can no longer be the person trapped in the world of time based silence.
My words will be echoing off the mountaintops of newly embraced moments.
It is in these moments I will find happiness in knowing I spoke timely truths.

Congratulations, Casey. Speaking truth is our obligation to ourselves.

Sometimes you just reach the point where the outcome isnt worth holding back anything you need to say.
