Got me wrong and misunderstood,
Trying to get you to see who I am,
But it's hard to say the right words,
To express how I feel,
Eventually, it all ends the same,
before it even began,
Why can't I find peace,
Losing my mind to say the least,
When you're flooded with disdain,
All that is left is the pain,
Misguided and left alone,
And hard to find my home,
In the end, does it even matter,
The hate inside grows,
Eventually, it all ends the same,
before it even began,
There's no peace to find,
I'm losing my fucking mind,
When you turn your back on me,
I'll find peace in death,
That you could never give me in life,
Why do I feel this way,
Why can't I be what you need me to be,
Ego is the change I cannot make,
In the end, this life I need to break,
Fuck you and your peace,
I'm better off, unlike you,
Time wasted, feelings change,
True self do rearrange,
But in the end, we turn to dust.

- Comment from author about the poem: Self-reflection on relationships while trying to fit into what is considered "normal." The play on words in the title, to me, symbolizes finding peace, whereas the content is losing control.
