The Monsters We Run From

Edthepoet

Do you remember who we use to be?
Are we happy in your memories?
I can remember the sound of your voice
Singing me to sleep
In late September the day after we laughed
At the seriousness of our dreams

Under the weather up in the clouds
Are we aloud to speak it out loud
I don't know whether we made the wrong choice
Leaving our home town
In late November the day after we laughed
At the seriousness of our frowns

Where did it all, go so wrong, we're singing to different songs
Are we forever destined to become
The monsters we run from..
..Or was it us all along?
