More Than Words

J.M. Shine

So Many Words Unspoken

So Many Hearts Left Broken

Ending Love Way Too Often

Leaving Feelings Uncertain

Words Can Hurt, Also Shaken

Words Can Love, Words Can Strengthen

Sometimes Words Are All We've Got

Words Will Be There When We're Not

  • Comment from author about the poem: This one I wrote while thinking about all the wrong things I have said that I didn't mean. One in particular I regret a lot, was telling my mother to her face that I hated her, as I walked away from her. I didn't realize - being 16 years old at the time - that those words were the last that I'd say to her. I am sorry for all of you out there who have possibly said something that was interpreted wrong, or something you have said to someone important that you didn't mean. . .

Your words are full of feeling and emotion and I can read your heart as I absorb what you have written. You are right.. sometimes we love with our heads and not our heart. Words come easily, but feelings run deeper.
