Love has no home for me,
Memories and thoughts trotting across my mind,
Lost in the array of colors and shapes within the library of bottles.
Frosted branches standing proudly,
Blood red wax creeping down claiming its own.
Scanning my surroundings lost in choice,
There you were.
Utilizing your power to stop time,
Peripherals start to cloud slowly no longer clear.
Swimming in the golden pools of your eyes,
Mesmerized, tantalized, complete confusion.
The beautiful chocolate river of perfect curls run down your face,
Illuminating every gorgeous shape and curve,
The resting place it has found in the middle of your back,
There you were.
Leading me, guiding me through the endless sea of false courage around us.
Your olive skin so soft like the petal of a rose,
Your voice a lullaby soothing my soul,
Your smile a ray of love shining, like the sun through the clouds on a rainy day.
Aisle by aisle the hard drive within me crashing.
The questions formed by the sight of your lips,
The joy felt within my pounding chest as your cheeks become flushed.
My body being rebooted,
The truth seeping through my veins.
Slowly the array of shapes and colors reemerge,
The image is as clear as the vodka nestled between the frosted branches.
There I stand forever changed no longer confused,
The frosted branches now lay beautifully within my clammy palms.
Dismissed by the slam of the register,
Love has no home for me,
But then there was you.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is written about the unexplained emotions I had felt for an amazing woman that I had seen waiting for my interview at the liquor store. This poem means a lot to me. I had never had a woman make me feel the way she did without even saying a word. I ended up getting the job, and the girl.
