I let go

winternightsky123

I let go.

Tears fall helplessly,

Glide down my cheeks,

Leaving a trace of black marker.

Everywhere

I let go.

Emotions explode out of me,

ones I’ve kept,

hidden away for so long,

are finally out.

Everywhere.

I let go.

The question is not where or when,

But why:

Why do I feel this way?

Why am I the way that I am?

Why aren’t you here with me?

And how:

How can I be free?

How hard can life be?

And how do I stop?

Because that,

Is the key.

  • Comment from author about the poem: As you can see, this poem is about crying. Relieving the feeling of upset but also not being able to stop. I wrote this because I couldn’t express how I felt and I needed that to be clear in my head so that I knew what was wrong. Writing poems has really helped me. Please tell me what you think!

Splendid piece, poetry is a great way to relieve feelings and you've accomplished it stupendously!
