To learn a poem,
brings only peace, you see.
Just like the song,
a pretty bird sings;
all the Joy,
that it brings.
It brings direction,
when you're torn.
It shows you north,
in life's storm.
It gives you strength,
when you're weak,
It clears the skies,
when it looks bleak.
It builds your bridges,
when you can't,
It fills your wishes,
when they're scant.
It plants the seed,
in your mind's field.
It makes sure,
your eyes are peeled.
It shows your fate's not sealed.
So let this poem set you free,
when you want cower.
This poem is there for you,
In your darkest hour.

- Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem after hearing him recite ‘Home-Thoughts, from Abroad’ for the first time and understanding what it meant to him to learn it as a child, as well as other stories such as Nelson Mandela and the poem 'Invictus'.

A beautiful write!
Thank you.
That's really good IMHO. Flows and I like the short succinct style.
Thank you, what does IMHO mean?
In my humble opinion. I'm not too keen on the short-hands but this one's quite handy !
That means a lot this is the first poem I've written since I was at school.
