Why are you so scared?
Its been a long time since you've been here
You've pushed everyone away
Even the ones who proved they wanted to stay
Why would you do that?
Its easier that way
No one can hurt me
I cant hurt them
No one will know the truth
I wont have to face the abuse
Buried it so deep
Along with the old me
I call her my alter ego
The one i never show
Shes full of rage and hate
Someone i never wana face
Pushed her so far back in my mind
Pretending I was never her
I know shes there though
Shes why im so afraid to let go
Even with all the love and hope
I now possess

What she went through
The pain she dealt with
